Training
The CIAS recognizes that every company and organization is unique and has different capabilities and needs. For more than 20 years, the CIAS has been delivering training courses and exercises to states and communities across the nation, as well as partnered with multiple organizations such as the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Forces and various Information Sharing and Analysis Centers. The CIAS has also participated in exercises, such as the national level exercise Cyber Storm, to help organizations improve their overall cybersecurity awareness, technical capabilities, professional knowledge, policies, processes and continuity plans.
Our workshops have also extended beyond the U.S., and our partnerships with Raytheon have led to CyberAcademy classes in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Kuwait.

Is your community cyber ready? Using gameboards and playing cards, the CIAS has developed a game to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA’s) National Exercise Division, in coordination with the DHS Cybersecurity and infrastructure Agency (CISA), as part of their National Level Exercise campaign.

Our History
On September 13, 2002, the CIAS held its first citywide tabletop exercise “Dark Screen” in San Antonio, Texas. From there, the CIAS worked with the Financial Services ISAC in March 2003 to hold an exercise in New York City, N.Y., followed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)-led national level cybersecurity exercise called “Cyber Storm” in February 2006. The CIAS has conducted to work with, and promoted, the development of community-focused information sharing and cybersecurity programs.
